Stories from the studio, reflections on process, and the art of the handmade.
Winter in Northern Idaho is not just a season — it’s a rhythm. Snow drifts softly against barns and fences, light lingers low across the valley, and everything slows. For me, this season has always been home.

This year, I’m channeling that rhythm into a new handmade collection: The Twelve Days of Winter: Twelve days of winter a handmade collection.
The collection is built around twelve winter words — fragments that hold story, memory, and light. Each word will guide a handmade Book, an Ornament, and a Pagekeeper.
I won’t reveal them all just yet, but here’s a glimpse:
Shimmer - A veil of light dancing just out of reach
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more glimpses from the studio as these words take shape in my work!

Behind each word lies a process of translation — from thought into texture, from memory into form. I gather papers, threads, pigments, and fragments of ephemera that echo the mood of the word. Some are painted or dyed, others stitched or collaged in layers, some rendered abstractly until they carry just a trace of the original inspiration.
These elements are combined, sewn, pressed, and refined until they begin to speak back — no longer just materials, but vessels for story and light. It’s a process both deliberate and intuitive, one that I’ll share more of in the weeks ahead.
From these twelve words come twelve collections of handmade books, pagekeepers, and ornaments. Each one holds a word, a mood, a glimmer of light. Gathered together, they shape a winter story that unfolds slowly, day by day.
An Invitation to the Twelve Days of Winter Handmade Collection
I want to share this story as it unfolds — not just the finished pieces, but the inspiration and process behind them. Beginning this month, I’ll be sending out a subscriber-only series:
Poetic reflections for each of the twelve words
Glimpses from my studio bench — textures, threads, fragments of paper
A first look at the collection before it goes live in my shop

Why Twelve?
There’s something timeless about the number twelve — months of the year, hours on a clock, days in a season of waiting. For me, these twelve words felt like a circle — a way to gather small sparks of meaning and give them form in paper, thread, and pigment.
This collection will release later this fall, but the journey begins now. And I’d love for you to walk with me through it.
