The Art of Anticipation

TRANQUIL • LUMINOUS • ROOTED

Stories from the studio, reflections on process, and the art of the handmade.

The Art of Anticipation

There’s a hush that settles into my studio this time of year. The light shifts—cooler, gentler—and every surface seems to hold its breath. Brushes wait, fabrics and paper rest in their folded stacks, and somewhere in the rhythm of creating, anticipation begins to take form.

Anticipation is more than waiting; it’s feeling the future take shape. It’s the slow building of something seen only in glimpses—a fragment of texture, a shimmer of color, a word that lingers at the edge of becoming. It's the Art of Anticipation...

For months, I’ve been working toward this season’s unveiling. Each layer, each word, each decision has carried its own kind of suspense. And in that waiting, I’ve come to love the space between what’s made and what’s shared—the pause before the reveal.

Every Fragment holds a whisper of what's to come - bits of paper, threads of light, layers waiting to become something whole. The beauty of a collection often begins in its scattered pieces.

The Slow Joy of Revealing

In our hurried world, it can feel unusual to linger in the unknown. But handmade work invites slowness. It reminds us that meaning is shaped not just in the making, but in the moment before.

I’ve realized that anticipation itself is a form of art—a living thread that connects the maker to the viewer. It asks us to lean in, to look closer, to notice what is not yet fully seen.

And when the moment finally arrives—when the work is ready to meet the world—there’s a kind of satisfaction that all the waiting was worth it.

An Invitation

In the days ahead, Wednesday, November 12th, my winter studio will open its doors—first to my subscribers, who will be the earliest to step into the story I’ve been building.

If you love being part of the process, the first to see new creations, or simply enjoy a glimpse behind the scenes, I invite you to join my newsletter for early access and studio reflections.
