Peaks And Valleys '2' is underway. I have not named this work yet as it is still in production but, I can you tell that the inspiration for this piece is summer and all it has to offer in my neck of the woods. Hillsides, meadows, and slopes blanketed with tall grass and wild flowers, lakes and streams, blue skies, sprinkled with fond childhood memories filled with summer fun!
The first work in my new series; Peaks And Valleys, is making it’s debut. I am titling this piece, 'A Slippery Slope'. Finding the voice for this series took some time. I am learning that this is part of creating a series; finding all the elements that create a body of work, knowing I can sustain the work through numerous pieces, discovering the nuances, while answering the creative questions, and feeling the artistic inspiration as the series progresses.
A funny thing happened during the summer of 2016..... Peter and I were on our way to visit Lake Louise and Banff literally a "Hop, Skip, and a Jump" over the Canadian border. Little did we know what events would come from this trip. The Journey to our destination went through some of my all time favorite landscapes, Northern Idaho.
